Short Bio

Alfie Reeves is a Leeds/Derbyshire/Nottingham Bass and Mandolin player.

 

Alfie plays with a variety of muscians including Bass for Freak Folk artist Molly Walsh and mandolin for Grace Baird. He is also a permanent member of the Riley Marsh band

Alfie's favourite played gigs 

After being asked to join the Gulls the day before he moved to Leeds, Alfie embarked on a venture down south to play a gig with the Gulls at Flow in the Forest as his audition

Having been friends since childhood, Alfie has always been in bands with Riley Marsh until he broke away to form his solo act. Alfie left with him and, within a few months, played to 2000 people on the quarry stage at YNOT festival 

Alfie joined a band at 14, not knowing how to play bass he learnt on the job, and the result was his first band The Collide

About 

Alfie Reeves is a Leeds/Nottingham/Derbyshire-based bass player, mandolin player and engineer for live and studio settings.

Having grown up in the small town of Wirksworth, Alfie was lucky to have been surrounded by music in his early teenage years, being mentored by Folk guitarist Nick Jonah Davis, who taught him how to play bass but also showed him a vast array of music from Alice Coltrane to Bert Jansch and Jaco Pastorius, which helped Alfie form his tastes and massively influence his playing.

Alfie has played at various festivals and gigs throughout his time playing bass and mandolin, playing at YNOT festival, Rock City, The Isle Of White festival and the Weekender festival in Gibraltar with various different bands.
